Finding Soft Poker Tables With Poker Crusher

Poker Crusher's Auto Lookup Table

Introduction

Poker Crusher's Auto Table Lookup window is excellent for finding soft tables.

By opening up multiple tables, users can quickly identify key characteristics quickly and easily. In the example screenshot 7 tables of $3/$6 Limit Poker have been opened.

The colour coding also makes it easier to identify players sitting at multiple tables. Since multi-tablers are playing so many game simultaneously, they are only able to play premium hands, and will therefore tend to utilise a more straightforward strategy. It will often be easier to steal from them, and if they come back with aggression, it's probably because they have a hand.

By default, tight players are highlighted in plain red text, and will be identified by having a VPIP between 17 - 22.

Very tight players will be highlighted by bold red text, and will be identified by having a VPIP under 17.

Loose players will have plain green text, and identified a VPIP between 33 and 42.

Very loose players will be highlighted by bold green text, and identified by a VPIP above 42.

Tight Players

It is a good idea to sit before tight players. This is because you can bet into them and steal their blinds. Poker Crusher can be used to visually identify groups of tight players grouped together - and sitting before a cluster of tight players will lead to more consistent blind stealing results.

The bold red text in the screenshot clearly shows that FlyingDagg3R, Tidwell85 and liaZZ are very tight and multi-tabling. So sitting before one or more of them could present ample profitable blind stealing opportunities. The best choice, therefore, would be table Mustache, as Tidwell85 and liaZZ are sat next to each other.

Loose Players

You should try to sit after loose players, so that you can raise their bets / calls, knowing that they'll bet with nothing. It can be seen that Mesh has two loose players next to each other; jusnolan and ttech_45. So sitting after them would present good raising opportunities for aggressive players.

Tidwell85 (a very tight player!) is also shortly after the two loose players. So a player sat between the two groups would be well placed.

Tables Footbridge and Vallejo are also good candidates, as they both contain two loose players sitting next to each other.

Conclusion

This article has shown readers a couple of simple strategies for using Poker Crusher's Auto Table Lookup Window. Experienced Poker players will be able to devise their own strategies to suit their own styles. Or perhaps they could just augment my suggestions, by drilling down into the data, and analysing more detailed statistics for potentially interesting (i.e. loose or tight) opponents. Poker Crusher has an excellent interface, and clicking on a player's name in the Auto Table Lookup Window will bring up their statistics in the Main Window.
